Dhanbad: After 27 long years, a family from Dhanbad, Jharkhand, was reunited with their lost member, Gangasagar Yadav, at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. However, their joy quickly turned to heartbreak when they discovered that he had become an Aghori sadhu and had no intention of returning home.
A Long-Lost Family Member Found
Gangasagar Yadav went missing in 1998, leaving his family devastated. Despite their tireless efforts, there was no trace of him. His wife, Dhanoa Devi, and their two sons, Kamlesh and Vimlesh, had eventually given up hope. However, during the 2025 Kumbh Mela, a relative of the family saw a sadhu who looked strikingly similar to Gangasagar. The family rushed to the Mela and were astonished to find that it was indeed him.
A Changed Man: “I Am No One’s Father”
Overcome with emotion, Kamlesh, Gangasagar’s eldest son, pleaded with his father to return home, saying, “Papa, please come home. We’ve all been waiting for you. Maa is here.” But Gangasagar, now known as Baba Rajkumar, coldly responded, “I am no one’s father. My only devotion is to Lord Shiva.” His words shattered the family’s hopes, as he refused to acknowledge his past life and family.
Hopeful Yet Heartbroken
Gangasagar’s younger brother, Murli Yadav, said they had long given up searching for him. It was a relative at the Kumbh Mela who first recognized the sadhu and sent a picture to the family. Although the family was overjoyed at the reunion, their happiness was short-lived when Gangasagar rejected their pleas. The family returned to Dhanbad heartbroken but still holding onto the hope that one day, Baba Rajkumar will return home.
Despite their disappointment, the family insists on a DNA test to confirm if the sadhu is truly Gangasagar. They remain hopeful that the truth will eventually come to light.
