CBI Joint Director and 12 Jharkhand Police Personnel Honored with Police Medals

Ranchi: Rajiv Ranjan, Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the Ranchi Zone, has been awarded the prestigious Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Alongside him, 12 police officers and personnel from Jharkhand have also been recognized for their exemplary contributions on the occasion of Republic Day.

Recognition for Rajiv Ranjan’s Distinguished Service

Rajiv Ranjan, an IPS officer from the Sikkim cadre, was honored for his outstanding service in critical investigations. He played a key role as a member of the SIT probing the infamous Saradha Chit Fund Scam, serving as the Superintendent of Police during the investigation. Additionally, he made significant contributions during the trial phase of the high-profile Fodder Scam cases. His leadership in the Ranchi Zone of the CBI has been widely appreciated.

Jharkhand Police Personnel Receive Accolades

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has also awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service to 12 officers and personnel from Jharkhand Police. These honors recognize their tireless efforts in combating insurgency, organized crime, and other criminal activities in the state.

Among the recipients are two officers of Inspector General rank: Dr. Michael Raj S., Zonal IG (Bokaro), and A. Vijayalakshmi, IG (Training). Other awardees include DSP Neeraj Kumar from the Special Intelligence Branch (SIB), Inspector Arun Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Vashishth Kunwar, Sanjeev Kumar Jha, and Vijay Kumar. Havildar Mohammed Iqbal, Bindre Mundari, and female constables Manti Khalkho and Prabha Devi have also been recognized for their commendable service.

This recognition underscores the dedication and commitment of Jharkhand Police in maintaining law and order while working in collaboration with central forces to tackle various security challenges in the state. The awards serve as a testament to their unwavering efforts and professionalism.
