Latehar: Collision Between Auto and Pickup Van Leaves 10 Children Injured, 4 in Critical Condition
Latehar: On Sunday afternoon, a collision occurred between an auto carrying children and a pickup van loaded with chickens on the Balu Math-Herhanj Road in Latehar. As a result of the accident, 10 children were injured, and four of them are in critical condition. The injured children were referred to RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences) on Monday morning for further treatment.
The four children, whose conditions are particularly severe, have been admitted to the trauma center at RIMS. Neuro surgeon Dr. Anand Prakash stated that all four children are being treated in the ICU, and a team of doctors is closely monitoring their condition. “It is hoped that they will recover soon, but the next 24 hours are crucial for their recovery,” Dr. Prakash added.
The children were returning home from school after attending the Republic Day celebrations when the accident occurred. The incident took place on the Balu Math-Herhanj Road when a pickup van loaded with chickens crashed into the auto. A total of 14 people were injured, all of whom were children.
According to reports, the children, who were from Chiru village, were on their way home to Nawada Ambatoli from Greenland Public School in a tempo when the accident took place near Magrandaha.
