Speeding Truck Runs Over 4-Year-Old Child, Two Dead
A speeding truck in Giridih killed a 4-year-old child and a man. Locals protested by blocking the road, prompting police intervention and an investigation.
Giridih : Two separate road accidents in Deori, Giridih district, claimed the lives of two people today. A 4-year-old child died on the spot, while another person succumbed to injuries during treatment. In both incidents, a speeding truck was responsible, leading to angry protests by locals who blocked the road.
First Incident: Child Dies on the Spot
The first accident occurred near Mandro Bazaar in the Herodih police station area. Four-year-old Sifan Ansari, son of Shahbaz Ansari from Belwana village, was standing by the roadside with his parents while they were shopping. An out-of-control truck hit Sifan, killing him instantly.
Second Incident: Man Dies During Treatment
The second accident happened in Chitrokurha under Deori police station. While fleeing from the scene of the first accident, the same truck hit Sukdev Yadav, a resident of Chitrokurha village. Severely injured, Sukdev was rushed to Jamua hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Protests and Road Blockade
Outraged by the child’s death, villagers blocked the Kharagdiha-Khijuri main road near Mandro Bazaar. Upon receiving the information, Herodih police station in-charge Dharmendra Agarwal arrived at the spot, pacified the protesters, and assured action. Police are currently investigating both incidents.
