Key Decisions Taken in Today’s Jharkhand Cabinet Meeting Chaired by Hemant Soren

Ranchi: A crucial Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren was held today, during which several important decisions were made regarding various state departments. The following key proposals were approved in the meeting:

  1. Regularization of Raj Kumar Ram’s Services and Financial Benefits: In the case WPS No. 777/2023 and contempt case Cont (c) 190/2024 filed in the Jharkhand High Court, the Cabinet approved the regularization of services of Raj Kumar Ram, a retired employee, and granted him the expected financial benefits.
  2. Regularization of Vijay Kumar Thakur’s Services: In light of the case WP(S) No.-7081/2023 in the Jharkhand High Court, the services of Mr. Vijay Kumar Thakur, who is set to retire on 30 April 2024, were regularized. The Cabinet also approved the grant of pension and other benefits to him.
  3. Decision Regarding GST Rate Increase: Due to the increase in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate for construction work from 12% to 18%, the Cabinet approved the process to determine the payment and liability for contracts under the Urban Development and Housing Department.
  4. Dismissal of Matthias Vijay Toppo: The Cabinet approved the proposal to dismiss Mr. Matthias Vijay Toppo, currently serving as the Director of Accounts Administration and Self-Management at the District Rural Development Agency, Hazaribagh.
  5. Jharkhand State Higher Education Award Scheme: The Cabinet approved the implementation of the “Jharkhand State Higher Education Award Scheme,” which aims to recognize the outstanding contributions of teachers, students, administrators, and institutions in the field of higher education.
  6. Approval for Appointment of Graduate Trained Teachers: In compliance with the Jharkhand High Court’s order, the Cabinet approved the creation of assistant teacher positions at the non-government aided linguistic minority school, Shri Doranda Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Ranchi, for the period from 26 February 2009 to 31 December 2017.
